Beaufort Wine and Food Art Unveiling and Wine Judging
March 5, 2016 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Join Beaufort Wine and Food as it unveils the signature 2016 painting by artist Donna Lee Nyzio during an evening celebrating the organization’s upcoming 12th annual festival.
The art unveiling will be held Saturday, March 5th, at 5:00 pm at the NC Maritime Museum’s Harvey W. Smith Watercraft Center, 320 Front Street in Beaufort. The event will highlight the signature painting, After Some Reflection, donated to BWF by the artist. The signature painting will be featured on promotional material including the limited edition fine art poster associated with the 12th annual festival week held April 27 – May 1, 2016.
In conjunction with the unveiling of the signature artwork for 2016, BWF will also be holding the FINAL ROUND of judging for its wine competition. Wines featured at the event will be selected by a panel of industry experts and voted on by guests attending the March 5th event. Winning wines will be revealed at the end of the evening and made available for purchase. Guests can expect to taste over 40 selections of wines. Expect to see the finalists’ wines and many others poured during the 2016 Vin de Mer Epicurean Village – held Saturday, April 30th at Front Street Village.
Local chef Charles Benjamin Park of Beaufort Grocery Co. will create a delectable selection of Hors d’oeuvres for guests attending the event. Unlike the art unveilings held in past years, this event will be set up so guests can sample the forty wines presented by various distributors, while mingling and having Ms. Nyzio sign the limited edition prints available for sale. Votes cast by the attending guests will determine this year’s medal winning wines to be featured at the 2016 Beaufort Wine and Food Weekend.
Proceeds from the March 5th wine judging and art unveiling event will go towards the funding of the North Carolina Maritime Museum’s Harborside Park project on Front Street.
